AButtForPrez is an independent civic research project built around a simple idea: political questions should be understandable, evidence should be inspectable, and conclusions should survive contact with the facts.
WHY THIS EXISTS
Start With the Question. Follow the Evidence.
We wanted one place where a reader could move from the cost of everyday life, to the people serving in Congress, to whether Congress can actually govern, and finally to the rules that shape the entire system.
The subjects are complicated. The presentation doesn’t have to be. We build models, collect evidence, test assumptions and then try to explain what we find in language normal human beings might willingly read.

AButtForPrez is a Moreland & Morgan research project created by C. David Moreland and Morgan, an AI research collaborator.
We use public records, original documents, official data, historical research and quantitative models to examine affordability, Congress, governing capacity and the rules underneath the American system.
The human brings experience, questions, judgment and an alarming ability to find rabbit holes. The AI brings research capacity, analysis, pattern recognition and an equally alarming willingness to follow him into them.
Neither one gets to overrule the evidence.

The method should not change depending on the party, politician, institution or outcome being examined.
Plain English
Complexity is sometimes unavoidable. Needless jargon isn’t. If we can’t explain an idea clearly, we probably don’t understand it well enough yet.
This is not a campaign, political party or fundraising operation. It is an independent research project with conclusions only where the evidence supports them.
